Black Girls Rock .... dUH!

This past weekend, the 3rd Annual Black Girls Rock Awards was held in New York City. The event, which was created by Beverly Bond to celebrate and empower women for their work in the entertainment industry as well as philanthropy. From what I have read from a list of creditable sources and sites Necole Bitchie being one, the event was jammin and they definitely showed up and showed out there were performances by Brandy, Ciara, Keyshia Cole, India Arie and Alicia Keys as well as a serenade set from singers Anthony Hamiltion, Eric Benet and Luke James.

Of course the fashion was a hit on the red carpet, take a peep below to see some of my favorite styles of the night!

NYC : ROUND 2

In less then 5 days, I'll be headed back to New York, only this time its more business related.

As I mentioned in a earlier post, I have been chosen, along with 499 other girls to attend this years Teen Vogue Fashion University!

I'm very anxious and so nervous at the same time. My brain is being rattled and thoughts such as, what do I wear? What should I bring? What should I ask? Where should I sit? And most Importantly, HOW CAN I STAND OUT! Besides my new blonde curly due, I don't think I'll have a problem with that....or will I?

Anywho, I will keep you guys posted as my days go by in NYC.

For those of you who are not familiar with the workshop I'll share more on what it actually entails.

It's a weekend long seminar program held in the fall for fashionistas to come and learn from fashion industry professionals. Each year they chose 500 qualified people from all around the world to attend! Once you are accepted they send you the list of classes and the quest speakers who will be in the classes with you, teaching you something about the industry, sharing their personal experiences, answering questions and more.
